Hotel accommodations

Wine Country is very busy this time of year, please book your hotel accomodations as early as possible.  The first hotel we reserved is already sold out for the weekend and our block is gone (Andersens).  We've gone ahead and set aside another block of rooms at The Days Inn Buellton and we'd also recommend the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott, though we do not have a block there.

If calling Days Inn reference the Wheeler-Neckermann wedding.  All rate discounts expire and the block is opened to the public on June 25th.

There are hundreds of lodging options in the area from Santa Barbara to Santa Maria.  If Days Inn isn't your style we'd also highly recommend checking for options in the nearby town of Solvang. It offers many styles of lodging and walking access to shops, restaurants and wine tasting rooms.

For anyone road tripping in an RV, full accomodations can be found in the same neighborhood as Andersen's & Days Inn at Flying Flags RV Resort or on the beach at Gaviota State Park.

RSVP and Contact Information

You'll notice there's no RSVP card included with the invitations.  We opted to save a tree, a stamp and you a trip to the mailbox.  Once you've made the wise decision to boogie the night away with us on July 27th, please RSVP to .  Please include: Number in your party, when you're arriving in California, and if you've made these plans, where you're staying.  Hope to see you there!

Q: Where do we fly into?

A: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the nearest large airport and about 2 hours south of the venue.  Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is a small regional airport only 30-minutes from the venue, but is more expensive with far fewer daily flight options. Some midwesterners are finding Burbank Airport (BUR) a cheap and convinient option as well on Southwest Airlines.

Q: Ok, so we got to the airport, now how do we get to the Wedding?

A: Unfortunately, the only reliable way to get to the area is via rental car.  Parking will be free at our reserved hotels and at the ceremony/reception site.  Besides, you'll want wheels to see the beaches and vineyards (See Things To Do Below)!

Q: Where do we stay?

A: See "hotel accomodations"

Q: Anything I should know about attire?

A: Two Biggies...

1) Uneven Terrain: And lots of it.  Ladies, high heels strongly discouraged. Specifically, something you can comfortably walk short distances in on dirt roads :)

2) Warm Days, Cool Nights: This is great wine country because of its warm sunny days and ocean cooled nights year around.  Plan accordingly.

Q: What is the weekend schedule of events?

Thursday:  We have the property starting Thursday.  There are no scheduled wedding events that day (besides lots of set up!) but if you are in the area already for a little vacation and want to stop by and say hi, please do!

Friday: Wedding rehersal in the morning for Bridal Party and involved family.  Friday night come one come all for a LA favorite, The Taco Man!   A very casual party for out-of-town guests and full weekend visitors starts at 6:30, food should be ready around 7.  Saturday will get crazy, we're looking forward to just spending time with everyone we love before the hecticity.

Saturday: Arrive by 5:30 for ceremony with dinner, drinks and celebration to follow immediately and last until...???

Things to do in the area

Making a vacation out of your visit to the area?  Here are some great ways to spend your extra time in Santa Barbara County.  Other opportunities abound to the South and North in bordering counties, give us a call if you want recommendations on the greater area.

Wine:  World class Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Chardonnay is grown in the hills surrounding Gaviota.  Explore and be rewarded.

Beach: Gaviota State Beach is only 7 short miles from the wedding site and personal favorite Refugio State Beach is only 15. The stretch of the 101 from Santa Barbara to Gaviota is all beach.  You get the point, its freakin' beautiful.

Hiking: Nojoqui Falls County Park is right next door to the ranch and offers light hiking and water falls to play in.  Chumash Lake Recreation Area and the Los Padres National Forrest provide endless hiking options as well.

Santa Barbara: Quentessential Southern California. Great food, beautiful beaches, shopping, etc...

Solvang: Quaint Danish Village in the surrounding mountains with wine tasting, cafes, antiques, etc...
